Dirk Lehmann was born in 1963, lives near Hamburg with his family.

Dirk Lehmann was born in 1963, lives near Hamburg with his family. He joined German Armed Forces in 1982, where he finished University as Marine Engineer. During service, he added studies in naval architecture. After German re-unification, he left the Forces as Army Captain in 1992 and joined KAEFER Isoliertechnik. There he developed the automated seaborne pallet handling system ASPH for reefer ships and initiated the European joint venture KSW Systems as General Manager in 1994. In 1999 he changed as General Manager to INTERING, responsible for marketing and sales of stabilising equipment for ships.

In 2001 he joined Becker as Managing Director and Shareholder. In the last 10 years Dirk Lehmann increased the yearly turnover from 20 Mio DM in 2001 to about 60 Mio Euro in 2011. The number of employees was increased from 28 in 2001 to 100 in 2011.

Becker Marine Systems today is the market leader in development and delivery of high efficient rudder systems for seagoing vessels of any kind and innovative fuel saving devices as the Becker Mewis Duct.
