Duncan Forbes
Duncan Forbes has worked at Rolls-Royce for 32 years.
Duncan’s current role is Executive Vice President, Engineering & Technology – Marine, a £1.3Billion business that operates across both Naval and Commercial sectors, offering a range of propulsion systems and associated equipment. This role involves constructing and executing both product and technology strategies, developing people processes and tools to meet the ever evolving needs of the business strategy. The role reports into the President of Marine and covers all 4 sectors (Naval, Submarines, Offshore and Merchant).
Prior to becoming part of the Marine business Duncan spent 26 years working in a large variety of engineering roles in the Aerospace side of Rolls-Royce. This afforded him the opportunity to work across a wide range of disciplines including mechanical design, stressing, control systems, thermodynamics and dynamic modelling. Being a truly international business meant that he worked with companies in locations as diverse as Russia, China, America and culminated in a 4 year period as Director Engineering for a subsidiary company based in Germany. More recently the role in the Marine sector has provided opportunity to work in Sweden, Finland and Norway.
Duncan was born in 1958 and has a BSc Honours Mechanical Engineering and Certificate in Management Studies.
