Gert-Jan Huisink

Gert Jan Huisink started his career as Maritime Officer with Jo Tankers, an integrated position for both engine room and bridge. He disembarked in Amsterdam to fulfill a policy position at the Shipping and Industry Association North Sea Canal Area. After representing the Dutch Shipowners community for several years, he joined Holland Marine Equipment in 2007.

Past positions include:

• Chairman Environmental sub-Committee International Chamber of Shipping
• Chairman Air Emissions Working Group European Community Shipowners Association’s
• Advisor to the Netherlands Administration on Maritime Affairs

He studied at several Universities, including the Centre for Maritime Economics and Logistics, the Erasmus University/Rotterdam School of Management and Nyenrode Bussiness University.

In his current position, general manager HME, he facilitates international trade, innovation and professional training within the maritime community.
