Hauke Schlegel

Hauke V. Schlegel studied Transportation Engineering at Berlin University of Technology, focusing on marine transportation and research on efficient cargo handling systems. After completing his study with a diploma degree he started his working life with a crane manufacturer in Austria in the field of worldwide sales and project management for ship and offshore cranes.

Since 1997 he is working in the industrial association VDMA (German Engineering Federation) serving the section of Marine and Offshore Equipment Industries, based in Hamburg.

In 2006 he became managing director of this section with about 200 member companies. The function is focusing on international marketing strategies as well as economical and political issues in the marine equipment business.

He is member of several national and international committees and steering boards of marine trade exhibitions.
