The areas where there was convergence of opinions for change between those involved with the Marine equipment Directive include:-
- How to improve the uniformity of the application of the Directive so that there is a legal certainty
- Efficient mechanisms to implement the MED for all parties concerned
- Regular updates to the reference standards list in the Annexes of the Directive
- Procedures used for issuing MED certificates and follow up
